The more serious a sinner I am, God gets more glory for justifying me
Should I sin more to glorify God then?
No! Why should dead men sin?

Funeral – the person is already dead, but we’re acknowledging his death
Ring exchange at the wedding – when they exchanged their vows before God, they were already married, but the ring symbolizes what just happened

Baptism – identifying with Jesus’ death on the cross
Water immersion – symbol of being buried with Christ

Spiritual reality: your old self died with Jesus 2000 years ago

b) The grace gives us a standing and hope of the glory of God
How do you get that grace?
By faith – do you believe God will do what He said?
Do you seek the glory of God?
Glory of God – The revelation of who He is & All His goodness
c) Tribulation to Hope
God is faithful, but you don’t know that for sure until you’ve had a chance to trust Him
Hope is based on confirmed faithfulness of God
Hope for the future is continually given by the Holy Spirit – never run out!
Next time you face a hard time where there is no way out, trust God with it. You may have to persevere, but you will not be disappointed!

If nobody is willing to die for decent people, what about ungodly people?
b) God didn’t wait till we repented to send His Son
If He had, we would all be condemned!
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
How do you know God still loves you when you’ve messed up?
If that is the best way for God to demonstrate His love, the best way for us to express love is to forgive others even before they repent
This was so none of us could repay Him
Be nice to those who can’t repay you – outcast, non-cool kids, etc
c) Justified by His blood
Justification was not cheap!
His sacrifice saved from wrath
Much more than when a cop pays for your own ticket
d) Much more we shall be saved by His life
If Jesus’ death can accomplish justification, His life can do even more!
Jesus’ life – interceding for us for sanctification (more obedient life style)

a) Is Christianity relevant to everybody in the whole world?
What about those people in Africa or in the Amazon?
Are they sinners even though they don’t have the 10 commandments?
b) Through Adam sin entered the world
Then death came from sin
No death before Adam – not possible with evolution of humans, etc
Even before the 10 commandments came through Moses, there were law and sin
c) What’s the similarity between Adam and Christ?
Adam was a type of Christ
Both had lasting impact throughout generations to all people
All of mankind was in Adam & all of Christians are in Christ
d) What’s the difference between Adam and Christ?
Adam’s sin resulted in everybody’s condemnation
Jesus’ obedience resulted in justification available for everybody
Death ruled over all because of Adam
Grace ruled over all who trust in Christ
e) Are we basically good or basically bad?
Are we born sinners or saints?
Yes – our sinfulness comes from Adam
By the same token, when we become born again through Christ, we have a brand new nature that is passed on from Christ
f) How would we share the gospel with those who have never heard anything about the Bible?
Adam, Jesus, death and eternal life would be a good place to start

4. What if I’m a really bad sinner?
a) I have done unspeakable things and still do even though I’ve heard the gospel message before. Does God still love me?
Jesus died for the ungodly sinners before we repented. Yes, He does!
If you see through this demonstration how much God loves you, you can trust Him. If you trust Him, He will get you out of those sins you’ve put yourself in. You might have to persevere, but you will have confirmation that God is faithful and you will live with hope that cannot be lost.

Was he justified because of what he did or what he believed?
Justified / Justification – just as if you’ve never sinned in God’s eyes!
b) Do you understand this blessedness of being justified?
You wouldn’t be happy unless you know your sinfulness and its consequence
All the guilt off your shoulder – freedom and happiness!

a) How big is the universe?
Earth: Baseball (23cm)
Albany to PDX: 6mm
Earth to Moon: 15 m (50 ft) – length of the 2nd floor
Earth to Sun: 6000 m (3.6 mi) – My house to church and then back
Earth to Neptune: 100 miles – Here to Portland
Earth to nearest star: 1.6 million miles
Stars: 3×1022 stars – each person on earth having 5 trillion stars each
God’s focus is still on us – He is caring and loving!
If the distance between the earth and the sun was off at all, we’d be dead!
b) How much detailed is our body?
How many cells in our body? – 60 trillion (6×1013) cells
If you build the body one cell at a time (1 sec / cell), 2 million years!
23,000 genes, each gene containing ~100,000 nucleotides
NT contains ~180,000 words
Huge machineries in each cell to construct each protein coded by each gene
The Creator paid attention to all the details
Each cell contains 1014 atoms (100 trillion atoms)
In an atom, electrons, neutrons, protons, etc.
“strong force” binding neutrons & protons
If any of these forces were off by a little bit, we wouldn’t exist!
God’s care and attention is both macro and micro (Omnipresence & omniscience)
c) Bombardier beetles
When disturbed, sprays boiling water and toxic chemical (quinone)
Two sacs of chemicals: hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinone
Adds catalase and peroxidase enzymes at the right timing to a mixture of the above two chemicals
Any of these processes goes wrong → death!
d) Global flood
This world currently sucks, but the Bible says it wasn’t always that way
The flood changed everything – taller mountains, more oceans, less air, less protection, etc
If a global flood happened, there should be layers of sediments with a bunch of dead bodies in them…. and yes there are!
e) Other examples pointing to creation
Conservation of momentum – planets etc rotating in different ways
No new comets, stars, etc
Expansion of universe – as the Bible says…

Grew up agnostic, hating religions
Hardcore atheistic evolutionist – wanted to suppress the truth
Combination of the Word & hardship led me to Jesus
So thankful that God had mercy on me

4. So what will you do about your Creator?
a) You are not an accident or a mistake!
b) Let God make you a born-again person in Christ!
